Small groups play a big role in the life of CBC with over 75% of our regular church congregation attending a group in the week.
We have a variety of groups meeting regularly either in people’s homes or in the church building.
It is the first port of call for pastoral care as smaller groups within the church can journey together, support and pray with one another, and encourage and learn together.
If you would like to be part of our growing small group set up, then speak to Sheena who oversees this vital area of church life.
There are many different opportunities to join in the prayer life at CBC.
From a regular weekly Saturday morning meeting to monthly prayers for the Village, and from a bi-monthly Sunday ‘Encounter Prayer’ evening to regular meetings to pray for the persecuted church, prayer is at the heart of everything we do.
We encourage regular prayer within small groups, and also have a number of people meeting together in prayer triplets. As a church we also promote and attend several national prayer events.
If you would like to know more about prayer within the church, then speak to Joan who oversees this part of the church.
Oasis meets every Thursday morning in the church during term-time from 10am until 1pm.
The time together includes a regular Bible study led by various people from within the church followed by a cooked meal shared with one another.
Oasis is a real community of encouragement, companionship and fellowship, and is led each week by Jeanette and her capable team of helpers.
Wednesday@2 meet in the church on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 2pm until 4pm.
Each gathering includes time with an external speaker who comes to share on a wide variety of subjects, sometimes spiritual, sometimes not.
The group also finish each week with tea, coffee and a wide range of cakes together!
The Wed@2 community is a wonderful mix of people from all backgrounds, and share wonderful time together each meeting.
If you would like to find out more about this group, then speak to Linda or Paul who head up this area of ministry.
